Right after the doctors cleaned her up and weighed her they brought her back to me for a second look, and this photo. The first look they had given me was when she was brand new and purple. They showed me a tiny purple face and she looked like a little alien, but still cute. My birthing doctor said she looks "very fair" so she was looking past the purple color.

And later on Oct. 22 we're both in the hospital...this is called "skin to skin" and babies love it as well as promoting their health. Hal spent more time with her initially because I was recovering for a few days. He tried "skin to skin" first and then came and told me how Hailey loves it!

Oct. 26, she's still in her special warming bed in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). Long Beach Memorial has one of the best neonatal units in the country. That's my hand she's grabbing. She's got great grabbing skills already.

Oct. 26: It's daddy's turn for his "skin to skin" time with Hailey. She's so peaceful when she's relaxing like this.

Oct. 26: I was released from the hospital a day before she was released. As you can see below, she loves kicking her legs, especially her left leg. She did that in my womb too.
